Louise Thompson
Louise graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 2011. Louise has worked for a number of years in a multitude of settings including NHS, private, community and hospital settings in Jamaica and the UK.
Louise gained an interest in Women’s Health in 2012 and has worked solely in the area since 2018.
Louise is a Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) affiliate member, and a member of two diversity and equality interest groups at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) where she represented the groups at various conferences around the UK.
Louise’s main goal as a Women’s Health Physiotherapist is to improve health, well-being and quality of life during those crucial times in a woman’s life.
Louise has a special interest in pregnant and post-natal women and uses a holistic approach with advanced assessment and treatment skills to manage a wide range of women’s health complaints however, she also enjoys treating orthopaedic conditions.
Louise holds qualifications in:
- APPI mat work level 1-3 Pilates series
- APPI ante & post-natal Pilates
- Functional Movement Training (FMT) kinesiology taping
- Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
- Acupuncture
- ITEC accredited Extended level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage
- Pregnancy & Post-Natal Massage Diploma
- Mummy MOT Pelvic Floor internal assessment
- Posture management in women
- Peri-menopause and Menopause management
Outside of the world of Physiotherapy, Louise teaches babies how to swim, enjoys Salsa dancing and plays the steel pan!
